  1. Hi Dr.Amin
I recently had two upper front teeth implants. Recommended by my dentist.I have a very strong bite and she said it would give more support to the two teeth. side by side
It was quite expensive. over $8,000. total. Two implants were inserted and after four months the procedure was finalized. The Dentist told me to be very carefull because of my bite. She said she had joined the two teeth together to make them stronger. After 1 less than a month. I felt the teeyh loose
I had to go to a different Dentist as an emergency as I Am out of the country. He told me I had a cantelivered restoration
because 1 implant failed. Is it her option to do another implant without charge as I had paid for two.
    Thank You.

  2. Nobel Biocare has researched the efficacy and long term success of the all on four procedure for 30 years. This method would not be so popular if it wasn't HIGHLY successful. It was specifically developed for people with significant bone loss who don't want grafting. If you're in that group seek an opinion other than this dentist who doesn't agree with it.

  3. Crazy. Some say, if there is no force on the jaw bone the bone goes back. And now here, it goes back BECAUSE of to much force.

  4. Can you tell me, exactly, what a "hybrid" denture and "hybrid" bridge is? I have looked high and low for an explanation to no avail. What are they a hybrid of? What is mixed together?

  5. I found that the dental gumshield was too thin for the strength of tooth grinding I did at night, so I bought a sports gumshield like the one my son wore in American football or a boxers gumshield, the dentists gumshield, (in England), is also very expensive, a waste of money compared to the boxers gumshield that cost around 3 bucks or £2 I didn't care that it wasn't sexy either as it also cut down my headaches!

  6. I had six implants put in over five years ago. Four upper and two lower, with bone grafts. When I got my snap in dentures from my regular dentist, the upper denture would rock up and down, and never did fit secure. Also food would get between my gum and denture, making it very painful to eat, and sometimes just to talk. They all came out within a year. The oral surgeon did his 4 upper implants over for free. Two of those have came out. My regular dentist charged me to do his over. My dentist never talked about the possibility of them failing. I was diagnosed with diabetes type II about two years and a half years ago. Just the other day he said It may be best if I just got regular dentures, and never mentioned anything about money. $30,000 for false teeth?

  7. Thank you Dr. Amin, I really appreciate the info.
I plan on having one implant ( lower back ) and I am concerned about possible future complications.
I live in Toronto and I will be searching for a dental clinic that can help me.
I am scared of the idea of drilling into my jawbone.

  8. Hi doc thanks for the advice u give people, you rock. I got a large space missing in the upper back tooth #3, likely requiring lots of graft material due to removed bone and requiring a lateral approach. What are your recommendations, you mentioned gold under the crown is it common for labs to do? And as far as best material for my situation what do I have the doc put there what brand, what heals best? And this blood concentrated chemicals u mention do each has to be ordered separately or are all in one deal? and is this a common request for an affordable oral surgeon or will piss him off?

  10. doctor can you please tell us more about the different types of implants and the best ones to use.

  11. I took a medication for 20 years that ended causing me to have to have many of my teeth removed. My insurance wouldn't pay for a partial but they would pay for a full denture so I decided to have the denture. The day I got them pulled, the dentist told me right AFTER she pulled the last one that I would never have an upper denture that works because I have that extra lump in the roof of my mouth. I wanted to punch her in the face for not telling me that BEFORE because had I known I would have just had to save the money and gotten a partial!. So here I am unable to eat with the dentures in because if I bite in the front the top back pops off due to the extra lump, yes it has a name but I can't remember it. It seems implants are my only option at this point to ever being able to eat a sandwich, a carrot stick or anything else that requires biting in the front but I can't afford them. They are ridiculously priced. It bothers me that I am stuck in this situation all because a dentist couldn't be bothered to make her observation known BEFORE pulling all my teeth instead of 2 minutes AFTER! She has cost me the rest of my life dealing with not ever being able to eat properly or to even be able to eat many foods at all. I think she should have to pay for my implants after what she did.

  12. I have a question…I am in my mid 30's and I have never had enamel on my teeth and due to vitamin deficiencies and other dental problems my teeth are literally rotting from either below the gum line or from the inside out. Due to all of this my teeth crumble, crack, break and rot. I deal with normal abscesses and what little bit of teeth still in my mouth are constantly in pain. I can't eat due to the pain, I don't talk, smile or go out in public anymore at all. My kids are embarrassed by my teeth so I've basically become a hermit. Would I be better off getting full dentures or full implants? Cost is of course an issue but medically if I don't do something and soon I am in fear that the next infection/abscess will go into my blood stream or up into my brain and kill me. All of these dental issues are affecting my health and now causing other health issues and heart problems. Please help

  13. Hello Doctor, My sister age 20 years has missing two teeths, the doctors said that for implant will add some artificial bone for support to jaw and second option is implant bridge. Please suggest me what to do implant or bridge implant???? which one is best???

  14. How many implants are needed to hold a full denture both top and bottom? is the all-on-4 procedure enough and how about long term? 10-15 years later.

  15. Thank you so much, Dr. AminWhat do you think about a nite time bite guard after implant surgery – to help with the grinding ?

  16. Which do you think is best mini implants or regular implants

  17. this dentist is great! i like the video u been share. maybe i shoulf not take implant in my teeth. too scary if after20 years or 10yrs., theres could be sideeffect., that can turn to worst.

  18. I live in Oregon. Do you have branches here ?

  19. I thought you got an implant to PREVENT bone loss?! You also say if done properly the implant should last a very long time…..then what? Do you have to get it surgically removed then get a new one placed?

  20. I am still undergoing treatment. I noticed since the final dentures were fixed in August the denture does not seemed to feel comfortable and my dentist have been trimming it down since then and until today without much success. I have a feeling as though there is a lump on the right back side of the bottom jaw. what could cause this feeling? By the way my dentist fixed right away the permanent dentures after my implants were healed and ever since then he has been only trying to trim and polish the denture to correct the mis alignments. Is this a normal procedure? Isn't he suppose to try out a few trial dentures? and also there is simply too much food getting trapped during my meals that I feel like rinsing my teeth every time during my meals.

  21. I am still undergoing treatment and the final set of permanent dentures have been modified the third time. What I noticed every time when my dentist fix the 4 screws I felt PAIN in the bones as the screws were tightened. ..but after a few minutes the pain slowly disappears. Is this normal? What is causing the pain?

  22. I have a full Implant….on my bottom jaw….are 4 implants enough to give support of the whole to the whole set of dentures?

  23. I have 2 implant my front upper teeth one is porcelain and the other has the titanium back and It is slipping down the crown is really loose and I can see the silver around the top of the crown when I smile or talk, one of my question's is can the crown be repaired. Also I had a root canal in October 2014, when you have a root canal on 2 upper teeth next to my 2 front crowns, is it necessary to have crowns on the root canal teeth or can the teeth be filled, since 2014 root canal upper teeth 2 holes in my teeth from the drill and my teeth are packed with medicine and cotton, I am having problems eating the food becomes impacted I have to remove it and put cotton in the holes and medicine I have been in pain most of the time but all I ever get is medicine put in my teeth and I have been taking amoxcillin for over a year. I never wanted a root canal but I was told that is the only way to save my teeth. Dr. Ramsey Amin, Your video was great honesty goes a long way I appreciate it, thank you.

  24. hello dr ,i ma young dentist from india , please tell me , can i take support of a implant and a natural tooth for a brige (FPD)

  25. Hello. An orthodontist told me that my top second molars can not be fixed with braces (they are turned outward and almost sideways) and that I should get them pulled and replace them with implants or keep them in and have them eventually rot away the rest of my teeth. I'm 28 years old. Are there other teeth saving options?

  27. How long can it take after sinus lift bone graft with Bio Oss and autologus bone mixed and implant installation at molars area 25,25 in the maxilla at the same time to heal and be open to continue restoration. Is it possible if it's not osseointegration occurs to leave the implants ,suture the gingiva back and wait for another month or two ?

  28. A friend of mine had implants and she still got decay really bad cos of the screw holes eventually got food going in and it was trapped and so she was bad to square one with bone decay, instead of teeth decay.. It made her very ill..

  29. Also another periodontist says he puts bone grafting in at time of implant? That doesn't sound right to me.

  30. Trying to find a good surgeon in my area the one I trust says no cat scan necessary, what do you think?

  31. This guy is honest. Most dentists don't tell you all the cons and what bad things can happened. If I lived near him, I would go to him. I believe he is a good clinician.

  32. I have full dentures on bottom and top with implants. I have had them for almost 3 years and I have not been able to truly use them. I put them in to look good and take them out to eat. The reason is that they won't stay in. No matter what I try to eat (even things like mashed potatoes), the bottom plate pops right off and then will move around in my mouth. I won't eat in front of anyone because I can take a bite and then have to stick my fingers in my mouth,  grab my plate and then put it back on the implants where it will stay until the next bite. I have to grit my teeth in order t keep the dentures in when I do things like talking. I used to have a relatively clear speaking voice but now it is garbled and people are always telling me they don't understand me. I had the same plates before the implants and they didn't fit then either which is why the dentist suggested implants. I think the dentures themselves are faulty. I don't know what to do besides continually going back for them to play around and try different things. I don't have time for that. One of the lower posts on the side where the worse issues are is laying over sideways.

  33. Dr. Amin, I have been searching for about a year for a reasonable price in dental implants. However, they seem to cost $1500 or better. I've also been doing video and blog research on procedures and different types of implants. So, I though I found a dentist, until he began to tell me that I need a root canal near the missing area where I want the implant, I don't feel that I need a root canal, being that I have no problem with that tooth, I see no cavity and I have little sensitivity to that tooth. I contribute the sensitivity due to the decayed tooth next to it. I'm not a fan of root canals , because that is why I now have to do an implant on the upper left third tooth due to a root canal years ago, and it eventually broke off all together. My question is how do I know if this dentist is up and up, What questions can I asked about that tooth he claims I need a root canal. I've been refusing him to do it, but he;s admit about doing it, because he's telling me eventually its going to hurt me… its hard to view the X-ray, because I'm not familiar and don't know what i'm looking at, I just don't want unnecessary work on my precious teeth, I'm trying to preserve as many as I can…Also, are mini implants a better solution verses the regular implants and what is the direct difference? I only need one implant and I believe its in a difficult spot. (Left upper third tooth). Help need a little advise…Thanks.

  34. I am missing two front teethon my top left. I have a cleftplate that was fixed but because there is not much bone to work with on the roof of my mouth what would you suggest? Money is not that  big an issue. I dont want to have to take my teeth in and out but there is absolutely no bone in that area.

  35. can a larger implant tooth  take the place of two  implants  upper right rear

  36. This guy luvs the sound of his own voice…had to leave before I got the info.

  37. This is probably a stupid question but why can't a implant be built with a shock absorber

  38. Sir, I had 4 of my teeth extracted for braces and it has been a year since my treatment started and I got to know about the long term problems of this treatment (like TMJ..)
My teeth are being pulled back to correct the over bite and so, sadly, the maxilla has gone back and i've heard it has long term effects like.. narrowed airway, TMJ, not enough room for tongue, grinding etc.
So I've been considering a reverse orthodontic treatment (i have a year more of my on going treatment left)
If I go for a reverse orthodontic treatment then i'd have to have implants, if not otherwise.
so what do you think sir? Implants or no implants(no reverse treatment)?
Are there as many problems arising from implants as there are in the current orthodontic treatment i'm going through?
    Thank you.

  39. Implant vs root canal…your feelings? The root canal has left nothing more than a stub so I do not see the benefit of saving a nothing, just so a crown that has little to hold onto has to be done. An implant seems like a better alternative, plus longer success rate and NO POSSIBLE complications like infections in other parts of my body from root canal.

  40. Hi dr, I had an implant morethan a week ago and I've been feeling a lot better, no pain at all but i began to notice small bump on my gum where implant is located. I finished my antibiotic. Is this normal? I mean there's no pus it's just a small bump, it doesn't even hurt at all. I would appreciate if you reply. Thanks in advance Dr 🙂

  41. how much does and implanted tooth hurts after that surgery

  42. Hello!! I just want to say a BIG Public THANK YOU to You, Dr. Amin for taking the time to post this video and others like it from yourself about Dental Implants!! I myself am planning to have Full Dental Implants (Uppers and Lowers) put in sometime in the near future as I have recently had all of my teeth extracted about a month ago and am of course in need of teeth that I can live with unlike my Temporary dentures that are so Extremely Difficult to try to use what with all the gagging while trying to eat with them, not being able to feel the roof of my mouth while eating and when I talk, I end up sounding like I'm 88 years old when I'm actually only 48 and find myself whistling at the same time I'm talking, etc. Now, I know that I'm in for a Long Road Ahead of procedures for not only the implanting of the teeth themselves and also for the maintenance of same said teeth, but with people like yourself that are willing to share their knowledge of such things as Dental Implants to people like myself who Need to know about them Really Does Help us in our time of need for such information, and I want you to know that your time and effort is MOST APPRECIATED!! Thanks Again and Take Care!!

  43. Can a person be allergic to the metal drilled into the bone? If so, is there an alternative?

  44. My question is: Are oral surgeons over sea's capable of a implant procedure & if so would U recommend it? We should already assume it's much cheaper.

  45. Have any changes been made in the field of implants since your video and why aren't you part of the design process or at least a consultant?

  46. whould you recoment a bridge or implant? I am missing 1 mollar on the lower left ? Can I have an implant if I remove the molar about 4 year, the gums look healthy and doesn look like the teeth moved at all. i dont smoke  thanks
